Raising the West Newton Avenue of Flags
Help raise the more than 385 flags at the West Newton Cemetery honoring local veterans for the 31st year, displayed during May through the Memorial Day holiday.
Everyone is welcome to help alongside volunteers from West Newton VFW Post No. 7812 and West Newton Moose Lodge No. 31.
To volunteer, meet at the cemetery office at 9 a.m.
Some will be provided, but helpful tools to bring to attach the memorial plaques are:
= Screwdriver
= Adjustable pliers
= 3/8th and 7/16th or adjustable wrench

**No Power Tools**
When used to tightened the hardware too far, they cause the plaques to crack over time.

Coffee and doughnuts are provided in the morning. Pizza is available for lunch afterward.
**Note: As usual, once the flags are up, please do not move the plaques while visiting.**
